Card art studio · on retainer

Train your card art once.
Render it forever.

Per-IP LoRA-trained illustration on retainer for indie TCG and RPG publishers. Consistent characters across 100+ cards — no compositional drift, no style mismatch.

Solo studio, Canada · In-house rendering pipeline · Per-card provenance log

The honest part

If you’ve tried to art-direct a 60-card set with a tight launch window, you already know the shape of this problem.

  • Commission math doesn’t work. Thirty individual illustrations at $300 each is a backer-funded car payment. Most indie sets never recover from it.
  • Fiverr can’t hold a character. Five artists, five versions of your protagonist. Your set looks like a thrift-store anthology by card 20.
  • Stock art is dead on arrival. Backers can smell it. So can the reviewers your campaign needs.

How it works

  1. Send refs and a brief

Character sheets, mood boards, the rules doc if you have one. A 30-minute call if you want one. We agree on style and cast.

  2. We train your IP-specific LoRA

An overnight training run produces a model that knows your characters, your palette, your line weight. It’s yours — locked to your project.

  3. 30–80 finished cards a month

Rendered against the LoRA, hand-finished in Photoshop, colour-matched to your set bible. Delivered weekly in batches.

  4. Revisions and delivery

Revisions are included. Final files land in your Dropbox — print-ready PNG plus a per-card provenance log.

Frequently asked

Is the art generated by AI?

Yes. Every card starts as a render against a LoRA trained specifically on your IP, then I hand-finish each one in Photoshop — composition fixes, colour grade, line cleanup. The AI piece is real and disclosed; the craft on top is what makes the set ship.

Who owns the artwork?

You do. Work-for-hire license, full commercial rights, no royalties. The trained LoRA is yours too — if we ever stop working together I’ll hand you the model file. Nothing about your set gets reused for another client, ever.

What if Kickstarter rejects AI art?

Kickstarter currently allows AI-assisted work when it’s disclosed and there’s a human creator involved — which is exactly what the per-card provenance log is built to document. Gamefound has a similar policy. I’ll help you draft the disclosure language for your campaign page.

How fast can you start?

LoRA training runs overnight, so first renders usually land within 3–5 business days of receiving your refs. Pilot deliveries (8 cards) ship in 5 days. Full first batches usually within 2 weeks of kickoff.

What’s a LoRA?

A small model file that teaches a base image model your specific look — your characters, your palette, your line weight. Once trained, every render leans on it for consistency. That’s the trick that lets card 47 still look like card 1.

What if I don’t like the results?

The pilot exists for this. $500 for 8 cards in 5 days — if it doesn’t land, you keep the files and we part ways with no retainer commitment. If it does land, the pilot fee credits against your first month.

Who runs this

A solo studio in Canada, running an in-house multi-agent rendering pipeline. Most client work happens under NDA, so the studio operates quietly by design — you’ll work directly with the same person who trains your LoRA, renders your cards, and finishes the files. No account managers, no offshore subcontracting, no surprises about who touched your IP.
